Christine Erikson of Mashable has an enlightening story on American Express’s Open Forum with some good ideas for marketing your firm on Facebook. In my opinion, this isn’t the best platform for office furniture dealers to put their time into, but it is slightly more useful for design firms. It could be especially useful for promoting showcase projects. Still, I would use Pinterest for that.
Having said that, I do think Facebook could be a good way to handle customer service interactions.
Tip 2 is very useful as Hoot Suite is a fantastic tool.
Tip 7 of providing local content is important as well.
